2022 – My word of the year:
𝙰 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝚏𝚞𝚕𝚕 𝚘𝚏 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚗𝚎𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚒𝚗 𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚙𝚞𝚛𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚎.
Weeks before I even began my review of the last year and setting intentions and goals for my new year, this word began to percolate in me. As I really started to think about 2022 and what I wanted it to look like, Abundance was placed on my heart.
But not like prosperity and riches… more like bountiful, thriving, and plentitude.
And then I found this verse from 𝟮 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟵:𝟴, “𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬.”
For some, abundance means prosperity or having more things…more money. I seek an abundance of faith… I want to live an abundant life that is overflowing in the fullness of joy and strength for my mind, body, and soul. So to me living an abundant life means living into the things that bring me joy: investing in meaningful relationships, adventure and travel, continuing to explore my passions – and in this fullness and abundance – sharing in this joy – my passion, and purpose with others. I want to continue to strengthen my mind and grow my faith, knowledge, and skills – play with my creative-side and live into my curiosity. I want to discover more of who I am as a leader, and more than that – who I am as a Christian Public Leader. As I strengthen my mind, I want to say NO to the doubt and to the voice that tells me that I am not good enough, or worthy, or valued. I want to live into the abundant and overflowing love that God has for me and continue abiding in Christ through my spiritual practices and self-care. In my year of abundance, I want to continue living into the healthy lifestyle that I have begun, exploring new recipes, and becoming more active in the ways that I explore the Pacific NorthWest, which is so abundant in all it’s beauty. An abundant life looks like one of overflowing gratitude and grace, mindfulness, and deep listening to and abiding with the Spirit and all she has to offer. And it wouldn’t hurt to find someone special to share all of this overflowing abundance with (accepting introductions😆) #🥂2022
